By P.J. Binsfeld ’15 THE ROUNDUP For most students, their experience with the lunch line is to wait, grab food and go. There is much more that goes on in that small room adjacent to the Great Hall that most students never see. “There’s probably a lot of time and effort goes into Michaels but [...]
By Andrew J. Barnes ’12 THE ROUNDUP Brophy’s food service, Michael’s, would like to memorialize, celebrate and honor all seniors by posting their pictures on their “Wall of Fame.” They have encouraged all seniors to stop by the Great Hall as soon as possible to get their pictures posted. When most people think of Mexican food, images of a Chipotle burrito or a Taco Bell quesadilla enter their minds.
However, Sylvia’s on 7th Avenue is a step above today’s mass-produced Mexican food and offers authentic cuisine.
Once you are seated by the staff, you are presented with complimentary high quality chips and salsa.

Brophy has started to measure and track every freshman’s health and give them a diet plan they can follow.
Called the Brophy Healthy Weight Management Program, the endeavor requires every freshman to have health data tracked, beginning the first time they step into health class.
“We just got funding from the owner of Michael’s (Chef Michael DeMaria) to do this. He believes very strongly about this,” said Mr. Christopher White, Health/P.E. Department Chair and head of the Brophy Healthy Weight Management Program.
Zinburger is a new Fox Restaurant concept located at the Biltmore Fashion Park right next to another Fox restaurant, True Foods.
You may remember Fox Restaurants from other restaurants like Sauce and Olive & Ivy.
The food at Zinburger is, well, burgers. And boy are they good. However, at around $10 a burger, they are a little expensive, but considering Zinburger’s locale, not bad.
Lenny’s Burger has been an Arizona staple since 1984, providing people with delicious burgers and other diner-esque foods.
Now it is widely popular and has three locations at 2825 N. Central Ave, the Southeast corner of Central and Thomas, 2545 W. Glendale, the south side of Glendale, just west of I-17 and 10635 N. 59th Ave. or 59th Avenue and Peoria.
The inside of Lenny’s is a fun throwback to the 50s, and is an enjoyable place to have a meal.
In the near future the student body will find something different on campus; something small, but nonetheless important.
Brophy and Michaels plan to completely eliminate the use of Styrofoam cups in exchange for new, recyclable cups in an effort to become more sustainable; a change that should occur by the inception of this year’s Summit, Feb. 22.
Mi Patio is a Mexican restaurant located on the southeast corner of Osborn and 7th Avenue.
It provides pretty good food for a fairly reasonable price.
The decor inside of Mi Patio leaves much to be desired. It is annoyingly “Mexi-Kitch.” What I mean by this is that the walls are painted to look like cracked adobe and the ceiling is covered in fake, hanging tropical birds, some wearing sombreros.
