Brophy Football
December 15, 2009 - The Brophy Varsity football team and coaching staff were presented the Matt O. Hanhila Sportsmanship Award last night.  This year, the Brophy football program was honored as a model of exemplary integrity and sportsmanship. 

The award has been presented since 1993 and is given to one team in each Arizona state conference.

Brophy Swim/Dive All State Team
December 15, 2009 - Medley relayers Louis Wojciechowski, John Wojciechowski and Harrison Gibson competed at the Junior National Swim Meet at Ohio State this past weekend, breaking the Junior National record but took second by only a 1/10th of a second. John Wojciechowski won the 100 butterfly, setting a new Junior National record. Danny Hatfield, Dominic Ryan and Chris Webb also competed and helped the Phoenix swim club to an overall second place finish.

November 9, 2009 - Brophy’s score was 545 points to 2nd place Desert Vista’s 256 points.  The Medley relay team of Louis Wojciechowski '12, John Wojciechowski '10, Harrison Gibson '10 and Brian Stevens '11 set a new state record on their way to a gold medal. The 200 Free Relay of Jeremy Becker '11, Gabe Espinosa '13, Carter Smith '11 and Tony Mead-Smith '11 won a very exciting race to earn gold.  Individual State Champions were Chris Webb '12 -500 free,  John Wojciechowski 10 -50 free & 100 fly, Louis Wojciechowski '12 -1st 100 back, Danny Hatfield '10 -200 IM , Brian Stevens '11 -100 free & 200 free.  In the final race of the meet, the 400 Free Relay team of John Wojciechowski '10, Brian Stevens '11, Jeremy Becker '11 and Chris Webb '12 dominated the field, winning by over 4 seconds. Other top 4 medal winners were Harrison Gibson '10 -2nd/100 breast, Shane Essert '11 -4th/100 breast,  Dominic Ryan '10 -2nd/200 IM & 4th/100 back, Jeremy Becker '11 -4th/100 free, Chris Webb '12 -3r/200 free, Carter Smith '11 -4th/500 Free and Danny Hatfield '10 -2nd/100 back.

Marc Kelly's (1987) along with Asst. Coach Noah Lewkowitz's (1998) Varsity Soccer team, is showing promise even before the season begins. Brophy Wrestling
December 14, 2009 - The Brophy Wrestling team took 1st Place in last weekend’s Jerry Benson Invitational in Buckeye.  We had wrestlers win individual medals:  Justin Robles 4th, Austin Schmidt 4th, Kiernan Bates 5th, Kevin Molloy 5th, Paul Wirth 6th, Connor Devereux 1st, Marshall Varner 1st, and Paul Looper 1st.  Looper was also voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler by the referee’s of the tournament; Connor Devereux was Runner-Up Outstanding Wrestler.  Please congratulate these gentlemen on a successful weekend.

Brophy Wrestling has been invited to wrestle Mesa High School at ASU prior to the ASU/Nebraska match on Friday, January 22nd. Coach Brad Franks commented "This is a huge honor for our program to be asked to compete in front of our home town college team and their fans." He believes the will be a great step to showcase the Bronco Wrestling program and team. He looks forward to the raucous support from Bronco fans.
